JRA 2: Overcoming the Technology Barriers (OTTER)
Objectives
- To develop and understand the limitations of new technology to increase the output energy capability of ultra-high intensity systems.
- To develop novel methods to increase the output energy capability of ultra-high intensity systems.
- To use the new technique of Optical Parametric Chirped Pulse Amplification (OPCPA) to produce shorter output pulses from ultra-high intensity systems.
- To develop alternative pumping technology (Diode) to enable operation of ultra-high intensity systems at higher pulse repetition rates.
