Format of the meeting: Each participant/contractor/sub-contractor will present an overview of the activities developed in the framework of CHARPAC.

Taxi: Picking up a taxi from the airport to IST/Hotel should cost less than 8 euros (pick up the taxi in the Departures zone - to the right hand side when coming out through security)
Subway: There is also a subway station at the aiport. The subway station of Saldanha is less than a 5 minute walk away from the hotel/IST.

The Central Laser Facility is hosting a workshop on the characterization of ultra-short high energy laser pulses on behalf of Laserlab Europe. Characterizing the properties of the laser pulses used in light-matter interactions is crucial to the successful interpretation of the resultant data. This workshop is aimed at both existing and planned laser facilities based on Nd:Glass, Ti:Sapphire or OPCPA. It will promote the exchange of ideas to help solve this fundamental problem.

The topics of the workshop will include on the shot measurements of laser wave-front, contrast, spectral phase and pulse duration amongst others.

They are a unique opportunity for the Access providers to present to the User community recent upgrades, new experimental set-up or diagnostics, and for the Users to present their scientific results.

Users are invited by the facilities where they performed their research project, and travel and accommodation costs will be reimbursed by this host facility. There is no registration fee.

Please contact your host facility if you want to present the results of your project at the user meeting!

By train: Marseille is at 3h-3h15 from Paris by TGV

From the main rail station Gare St Charles to Palais du Pharo: take the metro line 1 from Gare St Charles station to Vieux Port/hotel de Ville station and walk 10-15 minutes along the old harbor (see metro map and link to map with Palais du Pharo, metro station and main hotels).
