Few optical cycle laser sources offer the possibility to foresee new experiments with an unprecedented time resolution in the fields of molecular dynamics, formation and breaking of chemical bonds in chemistry, ultrafast charge and energy transfer.Other important areas are ultrafast processes in materials for ligth energy conversion, biological photoreceptors and quantum confined systems.
Time-resolved diffuese reflectance and trasmittance spectroscopy system opens the way to a new set of basic researches where both absorption ans scattering spectra are correlated to physiological or pathological states of tissues. System, producing 2D maps of fluorescence decays, can be used for in vivo pharmacokinetics studies, non-invesive diagnosis of superficial tumor, and in vitro study of cells.
