At the Laser Centre, located on the campus of the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, the laser-oriented research activities of several groups from different disciplines in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Laboratory Astrophysics are concentrated. The Laser Centre has a highly qualified research and postdoctoral training programme and an excellent infrastructure. About 50 graduate students, 12 Postdocs, 24 permanent scientific staff members (including 9 full professors), 8 technicians and a large numbers of visitors perform laser-related research ranging from laser development to application of laser radiation in chemical analysis and reaction dynamics, linear and non-linear light scattering, laser isotope separation, microscopy and biomolecular spectroscopy.
